Designing for the healthcare industry has been a staple in my career experience. While working with major healthcare clients through an agency position, I was able to take a deep dive into the workings of healthcare and medical design efficacy and communication. My project work varied all topics and media. One of the biggest takeaways from my healthcare work has been informational accuracy, legal competency, and empathetic design.
As one of the largest and most comprehensive projects I have experience working on, Centra Medical Group's Cardiovascular Annual report is a testament to all of my skills working in healthcare design, culminated in a 56-page publication. While I strive for effective and responsible design in all my initiatives, the healthcare industry is something that means a little more. While I am the "artist" of the family, my father, mother, sister, and many other extended family members have all dedicated their lives to careers in healthcare. To me, it is not only a job, but a personal responsibility to advance communication in the healthcare industry through design.
